A.L.E.R.T. Emergency Response Team
A.L.E.R.T. stands for Acts of Love Emergency Response Team.
It is designed to provide immediate holistic emergency response to disasters – whether medically, emotionally, psychologically, or spiritually.
It is composed of a team of highly trained emergency response professionals – paramedics, registered nurses, doctors, clinical psychologists, counselors, and hygiene specialists that seek to help people affected by conflict and/or calamity by meeting their physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual needs.
How ALERT works
An initial team is mobilized to fly to a disaster site. They take a medical tent and supplies to help a minimum of 1000 affected people.
- A second team of registered nurses and clinical counselors arrives when the intitial team prepares to leave allowing for critical data exchange.
- This team trains locally selected volunteers in personal hygiene, sanitation and basic counseling skills. This empowers nationals to meet the needs of their people both psychologically and spiritually.
- GAiN also provides medical intervention through their ongoing humanitarian aid projects.
